Mission: Provide Tecumseh, Lenawee County and surrounding areas with a warm and inviting neighborhood tavern in which we proudly serve award-winning, house-made craft ales and lagers accompanied by classic, high-quality pub fare using fresh and local ingredients and consistently friendly service. Once launching, we plan to expand our operations and production to become an award-winning regional craft brewery.
Overview: Tecumseh Brewing Company is a microbrewery, specializing in craft beer spanning a wide array, and evolving selection, of genres. Our food, representing that of a neighborhood tavern, serving high quality pub fare prepared with primarily local ingredients. The main focus will be on brewing and being the first pub provider of premium craft beer for Lenawee county as well as outlying residents with an eye towards expanding TBC’s reach, via distribution, into local pubs and restaurants within the first year. Once we are established as a county “hotspot” and a far-reaching microbrewery, our next step is to distribute regionally and become a staple for premium draft and bottled craft beer. Our successful sales backgrounds will aid us in achieving these goals. Through grassroots marketing and face-to-face sales, our focus will be relationship-building. The Tecumseh Brewing Company’s long-term goal is to be one of the top five identifiable craft beer names in the state of Michigan within ten years of operation.
The concept of our brewpub culture is to provide a warm, inviting and consistently personalized service to locals and non-locals alike. To establish this culture the two primary owners, Kyle DeWitt and Tim Schmidt, will be the face of the operation by utilizing extensive brewing, bartending and management experience.
Tecumseh Brewing Company will feature a multitude of revenue generating streams; craft beer sales, mug club membership and subsequent/on-going promotions, great food, retail options, entertainment outlet, event planning, and more. Through professional studies, along with research of our own, we have identified an undeniable need for Tecumseh Brewing Company in Tecumseh, MI. Coupled with the on-going growth of the craft brewery industry, and lack of local competition, we believe Tecumseh Brewing Company will be a great fit In Tecumseh and Lenawee County.
From 2010-13 brewer Tim Schmidt has brewed standard and specialty beers to the tune of over 20 medals for the World Beer Championships. Additionally, All About Beer Magazine awarded a silver medal for his Bock. Kyle DeWitt has 5 years of experience with brewery bar management as well as a decade of brewery bar training. The combination of brewing expertise, success and potential with our extensive experience in management represents an ideal formula for setting up a successful regional microbrewery.
